  • Conform with government SaaS mandates.
  • Creation of multiple interactive views of your app.
  • Compliance to accessibility standards.
  • SaaS Mobile solutions available as well.

Save on time and budget from trying to port to SaaS in house, leverage our expertise with mature web display technologies. Our experts make the process defined and simple. We fully understand the software development cycle and will save you time and money on this new software publishing opportunity.

The Aftercad Approach

The Aftercad approach is to separate your CAD application into the CAD Engine and the CAD User Interface. The CAD Engine stays on the server, the CAD User Interface is recreated natively in the browser and sends commands to the CAD engine exactly like the Windows or Mac UI would. This approach maintains your build control over your product as we only need to access it via API calls, thus your development path stays in check with regular desktop application development.

Our solution has many advantages over a PC-Over-IP approach in that latency becomes much less of an issue and because there is a rich data flow between the browser and the server, it will be much quicker, easier and ultimately cheaper to integrate with other client browser offerings from other vendors.

These are critical factors clients consider when opting to use SaaS as part of the ROI is the ability to freely integrate and mashup multiple tools, creating the single tuned solution interface the client needs rather than the traditional approach of multiple siloed desktop applications.

Visual Web Apps for iPhone

Although iPhone Apps are currently all the rage, many business and mobile publishers are turning to the creation of Web Apps for the IPhone instead. Native iPhone applications follow more traditional software development practices, are expensive and must be vetted by Apple to be allowed into the App Store. This process can be daunting for those who simply want to get access to their products and services out onto mobile devices like the iPhone. Web Apps have a distinct advantage over native apps in that they are typically much cheaper to engineer, adhere to common web design and HMTL practices and can be simply viewed by the web browser on the iPhone without the need to have to install the app first. For many publishers, Web Apps provide the most cost efficient and simple method of mobile publishing possible.

Aftercad has extensive experience in creating Web Apps for the iPhone and many of our Live Web visual features have been ported to work within the iPhone web browser to provide a mobile solution. As the iPhone and other devices evolve, emphasis on native app development will wane and the same forces that are driving Software as a Service on the desktop will drive more publishers to Web Apps for mobile devices.
